Wolfgang Widmoser (b. 1954 ) is an Austrian painter living in Bali who applies classical European techniques to a pushed vision of reality.

His works are distinguished by the distortion of forms with exquisitely painted realism in the rendering of their surfaces—shells, water, plants and above all faces.

The effect is one of great intensity, and it leads the viewer to discover a fresh experience of beauty.
